VOTE FOR DOG OF THE YEAR 2021 ELIGIBILITY – Members voted to continue using the High Point system along with the Regional results for Dog of the Year Eligibility.
New Business:
Discussion by Ginger Rogers to have all our trials be Open/Amateur Combined trials. Debbie Carnahan recommended we have at least one Open/Novice trial for prospective new members to enable a guaranteed opportunity for them to not have to run a multi-champion dog their first time running NSTRA which is not possible in the Open/Amateur format. MOTION: Ginger Rogers made a motion that all our trials be run as Open/Amateur Combined Trials. 2nd by Brian Rebello. Motion passed, 12 votes for the motion. MOTION: Debbie Carnahan made a motion to have at least 1 Open/Novice trial per year, 2nd by Jim Schroeder. The motion did not pass.
Pat Schobinger discussed creating a robust mentor service from experienced members for all new members and creating a mentor list. MOTION: Motion by Pat Schobinger to create the mentor list and promote mentor services to new members, 2nd by Brian Rebello. Motion Passed. Members that immediately offered to sign up were Rebello, Monell, Schroeder, Kitchens and Blose.
Mike Kitchens discussed creating a central point of contact for trial entries instead of having trial chairmen take trial entries and volunteered to do the job. Brian Carnahan mentioned that it is important to remember that the judges always get entry priority in a trial because if there are no judges there can be no trials. MOTION: Kitchens made a motion that we use a single point of contact for trial entry, that he would assume responsibility for performing that service and that all entries must be made ONLY either by email to him or by trial entry form sent to him by U.S. Mail. 2nd by Rebello. Motion passed on voice vote.
End of Motions for New Business.
No discussion or motions were made to make any amendments to Region By-Laws.
Other New Business:
Jim Schroeder, as incoming President, spoke and thanked Past Presidents Brian Rebello and Debbie Carnahan for their service to the Arizona Region. He mentioned he wants the members of the Region to come together and have a good time and more fun. He also wants more transparency and said he will provide a monthly accounting of club finances.
Marty Elliott spoke to using a new method of bird planting involving putting birds to sleep with neck pressure instead of spinning them. Marty said other regions and national trials are doing it that way. (He later demonstrated the new technique to our bird planter Paula and a few other members.) It was mentioned that it would be Schroeder's decision.
ADJOURMENT: Meeting adjourned by President Brian Rebello at 7:15 pm.
Respectfully submitted on March 10th, 2020 by Brian Carnahan, Arizona Region Secretary, 2019 – 2020.

Secretaries Report:
Prior Meeting Minutes of March 15th, 2019 were duly recorded by our prior Secretary but were accidentally lost due to a computer failure. Best recollection of the Past and Current Secretary is there is no old business to review. President Rebello called for recollection and discussion of any Old Business and nothing was brought up so Old Business matters were concluded.
