Debbie Carnahan
Years President :   2015 -2016, 2016 - 2017, 2017 - 2018 and 2018 - 2019

Debbie was first elected President of Arizona Region NSTRA at the completion of the Regional championship in May of 2015.   Subsequently, she was re-elected as President in March 2016, again in May 2017 and again in July 2018.  She served her 4th consecutive year as President  from July 2018 to March 2019.

Debbie was President several years ago during the difficult time when the National Office transitioned to a new computer record system and mandatory computer draw system for all regions which has now become standard at every trial.

She worked tirelessly to ensure trials would happen and our Region completed over 35 trials, of which she chaired or co-chaired more than 24 trials.

Debbie undertook a vigorous campaign to purchase a new club trailer with tremendously larger water capacity and after several years of tight financial control for the Region she was able to fulfill this task in 2018 while still ensuring sufficient reserve funding to sustain the club after her departure as President.

Debbie began conducting triple/double trials, one in July and one in January, that were attended by many handlers from other regions that substantially helped support our region and generated much goodwill among the other regions.  Debbie also championed the highly popular Open/Novice trials to get more new members and young dogs to attend our trials.

Debbie wants to thank ALL of the Officers, Board members and regular members that assisted her during the last four seasons but she would like to extend special recognition to Board member Brad Christensen, who for all four years provided so much support to her and our Region.  Despite not actually having the time Brad made the time and worked tirelessly as a trial chair, co-chair, judge and problem solver for our Region during the entire tenure of Debbie as President.  Thank you so much Brad!

Debbie has two German Shorthair Pointers that run in NSTRA trials,  JoJo (Carnahan's She's Got the Mojo JoJo)
a 5X NSTRA Champion and two-time Az. High Point Dog of the Year and Annie (Carnahan's Double Purdey Annie Rose) a young puppy that earned her first NSTRA placement at 1 1/2 years old.  Debbie lost her great dog Ruby Tuby Teapot, a NSTRA Champion and past 1st Runner Up Regional Champion on February 9th, 2020.

Although she is no longer President if you want information about attending one of our trials or just general questions about NSTRA trialing you are welcome to call her at 928-606-4235.
