Trial Chairman Information and Resources:
Info from Julia Camp, Past Treasurer, as of July 2021-
The club is required to have a special use permit for each of the three trial locations - Maternity Wells on Tucson BLM, Red Tank on the Kaibab NF & Kendrick Park on the Coconino NF. The trial chair is required to obtain a copy of the trial permit from the Regional Treasurer since the Treasurer is responsible for obtaining these permits. The trial chair is expected to be familiar with the conditions of the permit and have a copy in their possession at the trial. Please do not forget that the BLM & Forest Service permits do NOT give the club exclusive use of the trial site, these sites are public land so anyone can use them at any time and members are expected to be respectful of other users.
AZ Game & Fish Department bird permits are required for each trial and must be in the possession of the trial chair at the event. Permits for all trials are to be obtained by the Regional President. In the event a trial date is changed, the club will obtain a new AZGFD permit. Contact the current Regional President for more information.
Porta-Pot is the current portable toilet for Sonoita Maternity Wells Trials. The Regional President should email the entire trial schedule to Jill Thomas at [email protected] in October. Each trial chairman should contact her via email or phone 520-459-3344 the week before a unit is needed. The invoice should be emailed to the current Regional Treasurer.
H & R Septic is the current portable toilet vendor for Kendrick Park & Red Tank trials. The trial chair needs to call the office at 928-526-0206 at least a week or two before the unit is needed. Confirm the location where you want the toilet delivered and remind them that the unit has to be picked up the day after the trial is completed or the club is in violation of their Forest Service permits. The invoice should be emailed to the current Regional Treasurer.
One toilet is typically sufficient for a 2 day trial, but 2 toilets are needed for 3 days trials.

Arizona NSTRA membership list. Very helpful for contacting members to verify attendance or get additional info about number of dogs, dog names, etc. You can get a copy by contacting the club president. It lists names, address, phone numbers member status and judge ID numbers.
Sonoita Airstrip Trials DO NOT require PortaJon services. Water is available at the airstrip for horses/dogs and non-potable use by members, such as RV showers, etc.
